Pediatric physical therapy (also known as pediatric physiotherapy), is a specialized branch of physical therapy that addresses the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents. It involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating various conditions affecting their physical development, movement, and functional abilities.

Saskatchewan Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) services are offered in 14 regions across the province.  The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education funds ECIP to provide specialized services to families of young children between birth and school entry who are either at risk for, have a diagnosis of, or exhibit developmental delay.

The Village YXE is a collaborative coworking space primarily supporting the prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric populations in Saskatoon. The Village provides an inclusive space for independent healthcare practitioners to provide services to their clients amongst a group of like-minded practitioners. The Village will be "home" to an array of practitioners including Pediatric Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist, Pediatric Psychologist, Maternal Mental Health Counsellor, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, Newborn and Infant Feeding Specialist, Lactation Counsellor, Chiropractor, Massage Therapist and more. The Village allows for individuals to build their own businesses while experiencing many of the benefits that are often only experienced by employees such as administrative support, on-site parking, interoffice referrals, payment support, and more.

Speech Therapy Saskatoon is comprised of a team of speech-language pathologists that provides therapy in a supportive environment conducive to learning. Our approach to treatment is multi-faceted. We use multiple modalities (e.g., writing, talking, gesturing and drawing) and employ multi-sensory techniques (e.g., utilizing texture and movement in the process) to help our clients reach their communication goals. As treatment unfolds, we build on our clients’ strengths, make it fun, learn together, build confidence and progress from there.

Our specialized equipment and treatments focus on improving mobility, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, endurance, gross motor skills, cognition, motor planning, confidence, motivation, and more. With a large, experienced team we are able to provide custom programs based on each child’s distinct needs, from birth to 18 years old.

Typically developing children with injuries, or those looking to extend or improve their athletic careers through pre-habilitation enjoy our open space, engaging equipment, and thoughtful treatment plans, while those with lifelong conditions benefit from the playfulness and our creative support to help them stay motivated in their rehabilitation journey.

A mom of two, wife, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist with a focus on newborn, infant, and pediatric feeding and swallowing. For nearly a decade I have been supporting little ones and their families through complex feeding journeys. I have worked with hundreds of parents and clients from all walks of life and have come to realize that there are only a few things that all of those families hoped for: support, guidance, and the comfort in knowing that their little ones’ feeding is heading in the right direction.

The Alvin Buckwold Child Development Program (ABCDP) located at Kinsmen Children's Centre is a place for kids to learn and grow. We see kids up to 18 years of age who have or are at risk for developmental, cognitive and/or physical challenges.

Autism Services is a Saskatoon-based, charitable organization dedicated to providing advocacy, support, education, recreational, and social and residential programs and services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Any family having an individual with characteristics or a diagnosis of autism, or any other disorder on the Autism Spectrum, may qualify for service.

Prairie OT provides private Occupational Therapy services to children in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

 

Therapy may be provided at your child’s home, daycare or preschool. 

 

In-home therapy is convenient for families and supports a child’s ability to learn and practice new skills in their natural environment.

We observed a gap in programming for children with neurological conditions (such as Cerebral Palsy). We then set out to train our staff and develop a program that would be sufficient. In 2016 we launched our comprehensive Children’s Program. Along with ABT, this program includes: The Therasuit Method®, MNRI Reflex Integration, and Functional Electrical Stimulation.
